Subject: This week: a setback, a birthday, and what's coming
Hey family,
Wanted to check in and share how the past week went, because you're my community and I want to carry you along my story, not just the highlight reel.
I was booked to perform at a concert this past week. Got there ready to give it everything, and then I wasn't given the chance to actually get on stage. Honestly, it hurt. But this is part of what it means to be an independent artist. Things don't always go the way you plan, and I'm learning to take these moments as lessons instead of letting them stop me. So I took it, I processed it, and I kept moving. That's the only way forward.
On a brighter note, it was also my birthday this week. I turned 26, and I treated myself to everything on my wish list: a vinyl player, J. Cole's Off-Season on vinyl, and tickets to see him live. It was a small, intimate celebration, just the way I wanted it, and it reminded me to keep enjoying the little wins even when the bigger ones don't go as planned.
Looking ahead, new music is on the way and rollout starts sometime this week, so keep an eye on this space. I'll be sharing more with you as things come together.
